Speakers for the event are national speaker Paul Greenwood, a former assistant district attorney in San Diego County who prosecuted more than 750 cases of elder abuse and Billie McNeely, a elder abuse specialist with the Oregon Adult and People with Disabilities.
The information they will share will help people everywhere understand how to spot elder abuse and steps to take to stop and report it.
Elder abuse refers to intentional or negligent acts by a caregiver or trusted individual that causes harm to an older person. It can take on many forms, including financial abuse and exploitation, neglect or isolation, physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional or psychological abuse (including verbal abuse and threats).
