Get an introduction to soft shoe Irish step dancing from a champion at the New York Studio of Irish Step Dance.
About the Event
Our three-part series on soft shoe Irish step dancing will get you moving and having fun as you learn the steps of the basic jig and reel. These lessons for beginners are taught by Michael Putman, the 2009 World Champion of Irish Dance and a three-time North American Champion who has performed with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and Ottawa Symphony Orchestra.
Express yourself creatively and get some great aerobic exercise while connecting with other dancers! Irish step dancing can help improve your balance, stability and coordination, and because it’s a challenge both physically and mentally, it’s good for your brain, too. Please consult your physician before beginning any new exercise regimen.
Lesson 1 will take place on March 14 and Lesson 2 on March 21.
