Our four-session series on preparing to receive caregiving will explore the difficulty of embracing help as we age and how to overcome it.
About the Event
As we journey through life, we inevitably encounter transitions that challenge our sense of identity and independence. One of the most difficult is the acceptance of caregiving. Whether you already rely on assistance for daily living or foresee this need in the future, preparing for the dance between independence, dependence and interdependence can be an empowering step toward personal growth.
This first session in our series on accepting caregiving will help participants:
- Anticipate physical challenges that may cause a need for assistance
- Learn what it means to “sage” as we age
- Identify barriers to accepting help and ways to move past them
- Ponder what life still holds to look forward to, to fear and to be curious about
Each workshop will include breakout sessions for small group sharing.
