We will convene at the stone gate house located to the left of the arches on NC 9. Registration will commence at 8:30 a.m. with the walk commencing at 9:00 a.m. This is a scenic walk that features beautiful homes, a charming lake, a path that runs alongside a creek, a college campus, and a world-renowned fresco. The walk is conducted on paved roads but does have some hills. The walk is rated 1 for walking surface and 3 for hills. It is recommended that participants bring a snack, water, and wear comfortable walking shoes. Following the walk, participants are welcome to join the Amblers for lunch at a local restaurant.
Directions: Take Exit 54 (NC 9) off I-40 and go north into town. Cross over US 70 (State Street) and continue on NC 9 until you come to stone arches. Go through arches and immediately turn left into the parking lot behind the stone gate house.
