AARP Hearing Center
Find out what your community can do to become safer and more welcoming for people living with dementia.
About the Event
AARP’s Livable Communities Initiative strives to help communities become great places to live for people of all ages and abilities by focusing on eight key community features, one of which relates to respect and social inclusion.
To examine how this principle can better the lives of people coping with Alzheimer’s and other dementias, we’ve teamed up with Dementia Friends Massachusetts, part of a global public awareness program helping communities become safer, more inclusive and more respectful of the growing number of people with dementia and those who care about them.
At this interactive session we’ll explore:
- What dementia is
- What it's like to live with dementia
- Tips for communicating with people who have dementia
