Join us to hear about the history of the Tuskegee Airmen of WWII, the first Black American aviators in the U.S. Armed Forces.
The program at Tuskegee Army Airfield in Alabama began in 1941 as part of an experiment to train Black Americans to be military pilots. It stemmed from a push by civil rights organizations to integrate the military. The airmen overcame racial discrimination to become one of the most respected fighter groups of the war.
