The holidays can be a time of “more” – more visitors, more decorations, more food and more distractions.
Join us for a conversation on how to make sure that, amid all the excitement, your home is safe and inviting for holiday visitors. Based on the free AARP HomeFit Guide, this “Tea and Coffee Tuesday” presentation will cover universal design features that make a home more accessible for all, room-by-room suggestions to keep you and your visitors safe, and quick fixes that can be implemented across many housing situations. You will also hear from Andrew Mersmann, a Fire Safety and Burn Prevention expert. Part of the presentation will highlight seasonal fire and burn hazards, including risks from drying trees and garlands, open candle flames, and gifts containing lithium-ion batteries.
