This documentary follows five women from around the world who are boldly breaking glass ceilings in the male-dominated world of orchestral conducting.
About the Event
Maggie Contreras’ documentary about women conductors profiles five who are competing in the only conducting competition for women. Contreras reveals how childhood abuse, maternity discrimination, and gendered expectations have molded them as individuals. These disparate experiences paradoxically unite them in a common cause while distinguishing their priorities.
