Eastern Kentucky has some of the highest poverty rates in the nation. Our programs, which address the issues of education, substandard housing, hunger, isolation, and more, all operate with a participatory philosophy that seeks to promote the dignity and self-efficacy of the people we serve with. Each day volunteers engage in direct service on construction job sites, in preschools and grade schools, in food pantries and thrift stores, and in the homes of the elderly.

Christian Appalachian Project is a lifeline that connects our participants to someone who cares about their wellbeing, and who sees them when the world has passed them by. Be assured that we are following safety guidelines for our participants, volunteers, and employees during the pandemic. Our One-Year volunteers are a vital part of programs that connect participants with education, food, and housing repairs. Perhaps, just as importantly, the volunteers ensure that our participants know that they arenメt forgotten about. That they are cared about. That they are loved. You could be that volunteer and lifeline for our participants.
