Volunteer drivers are needed to deliver hot meals & friendly smiles to homebound recipients. Monday through Friday, midday, throughout the Tampa Area. Our service boundary is the Pasco line to the North, Riverview/Gibsonton to the South, Pinellas line to the West and I-75 to the East. We have convenient pickup locations throughout Tampa, where volunteers pick up meals in hot bags and coolers. Pickup times for these areas vary from 9:30am-12:30pm. Volunteers reserve routes based on their schedules. Routes consist of an average of 12 recipients within a few miles of each other and take 60-90 minutes to complete. A route sheet with turn by turn directions, the recipientsﾒ names, addresses and phone numbers are provided. A simple meal delivery by a smiling face eliminates hunger, isolation and loneliness. Volunteers may be the only person the recipient sees all day. Volunteer drivers must be 18 years old and use their own vehicles and gas. All volunteer drivers must complete a volunteer application and attend a short orientation.
