Our program serves residents in the following jurisdictions: Loudoun County, Fairfax County, Arlington County, and the City of Alexandria. The Northern Virginia Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program recruits volunteer advocates who are empathetic, diplomatic, assertive and skilled communicators to:

- Work to protect resident rights and help to resolve problems.
- Dedicate four hours/week for one year.
- Flexible volunteer/visiting schedules.
- Receive 18 hours of on-going training and support throughout the year.

We offer a three-day in-person training twice a year to interested volunteers. Our next training will be offered in March 2024!

We require background checks and references before attending the training.
