Spring Reins of Life (Horses, Humans & Healing) is actively seeking Volunteers to serve on a Veterans Advocacy Committee.
The general role of these positions is to advocate for Operation Horse programs for Veterans in New Jersey. There will be a volunteer administrative assistant assigned to this committee.

We are interested in volunteers active in the Central New Jersey region's community and Veteran related issues. In our arena - Horses Save Lives!

Spring Reins of Life (SRoL) has been serving Veterans since we started in 2012, and we are proud that over 700 veterans have been to our Operation Horse program. We continue to serve the PTSD units at Lyons VA Hospital on Wednesday mornings under a long standing MOU.

SRoL is very honored to be 1 of 15 Eagala programs in the United States to be involved in the first pilot grant by the VA to fund equine therapy as "mental health" for veterans with PTSD. This is a huge opportunity to save thousands of lives! It is also proving to be a great challenge to get the information of this opportunity to the Veterans who will most benefit from it.

We are actively (urgently) seeking volunteers to serve on a Veterans Advocacy Committee. The first and primary focus of this committee for 2019-2020 is RECRUITING. These VA groups are funded, however in order to report back on interest, attendance, and results we need to fill a new group every 8 weeks with 8 new veterans to participate in Op Horse weekly groups. What we think is our ideal committee members are Veterans, veteran family members, active community members, mental health professionals, and other who work with or support veterans.

Other secondary focus would to assist SRoL in locating part or all funding needed for Lyons Hospital groups 2020 (est 27k/yr).

Along the way there will be expanded awareness and presence to the local community (more support) and most importantly to reach the Veterans of New Jersey who need to have this chance at healing with horses. There is more information details available upon request. Please contact us if interested in helping us serve those who served.
