Do you want to help strengthen and defend democracy in our republic? The Center for Free, Fair, and Accountable Democracy (CFFAD) provides civic education programs to adults age 18 and up. We have an immediate need for a volunteer Treasurer living in the DC-MD-VA area to guide us through our start-up phase to sustainability.

You would serve as a business partner to the President on CFFADメs financial, budgeting, administrative, and donor processes. You would be responsible for choosing and managing simple but accurate and effective administrative and financial systems; devising rules and procedures to ensure good corporate governance; preparing and finalizing regular financial reporting materials and metrics for the board of directors; budget planning and implementation; preparation of all reports and forms required by the IRS and state authorities; and overseeing audits.

You would also chair any finance committees that may eventually be raised, as well as lead in recruiting and managing future volunteers for financial and administrative roles.Qualifications: Minimum one-year commitment. Willingness and ability to prioritize the mission of CFFAD. Non-negotiable commitment to non-partisan behavior while assisting or representing CFFAD. Integrity and credibility. Prior experience serving as a non-profit treasurer or associated roles related to financial management and accounting functions in the nonprofit sector.

At least a bachelorメs degree (MA/MBA preferred) in Business, Management, or Finance. Flexible and a self-starter; able to multi-task while also being highly detail-oriented. Excellent people skills, with experience collaborating with a diverse, multidisciplinary team of volunteers. Familiarity with accounting and tax software for non-profit functions such as Aplos, Quickbooks, Sage, or Zoho. Familiarity with donor-tracking software such as Kindful would be an added bonus.

Schedule is flexible. Ideal candidate is available to work from home 5 to 15 hours per week, communicating electronically, and with the flexibility and means to periodically meet in the DC-Virginia area.
