Become a Patient Care volunteer with Good Shepherd Hospice!

Hospice patients and their families are going through one of the most difficult things they will ever experience and having a helping hand and a listening ear makes all the difference! Hospice Patient Care volunteers spend time with the patients and the families wherever the patient calls home. Some of the things Patient Care volunteers can do are:

Reading, watching TV, or playing music for the patient.
Using therapeutic touch to comfort.
Helping the caregiver with household tasks such as errand running or light housework.
Providing respite for the caregivers so they can feel confident their loved one is being looked after by a caring and patient volunteer.
Listening to stories, playing games or just providing a comforting presence.

This opportunity requires very special people who are dedicated to service and genuinely want to provide companionship to those who have chosen hospice care.
