Ohio SMP (Senior Medicare Patrol) peer educators teach older adults how to stay safe from Medicare fraud and identity theft . They provide this critical information through presentations and/or distributing literature at events attended by seniors.

SMPs receive funding through the Administration for Community Living. Pro Seniors, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping older Ohioans resolve their legal and long-term care issues, administers Ohio SMP.

Benefits of being a peer educator include: free online training; flexible schedule that meets your needs; continuing education by email at least once a month; mileage reimbursement; minimal easy - to - complete paperwork ;and access to SMP staff with questions. (You don't have to know everything!)
