You can change someone's life...including your own. Hospice Volunteers may assist in a number of ways including but not limited to sitting with patients, providing respite, working on the hospice unit or assisting our bereavement office. For more information about the many volunteer opportunities available, please contact Hospice of the Wabash Valley at (812) 234-2515.Hospice of the Wabash Valley is the only not for profit agency providing supportive care to people in the final phase of a terminal illness. Our focus is on comfort and quality of life, rather than cure. Our goal is for patients to live each day as fully as possible. Hospice of the Wabash Valley celebrated 40 years of service in 2022.

In the spring of 2018, we opened the first inpatient hospice center within a 60-mile radius of Terre Haute. The Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care is located in Union Hospital, 5th floor of the West Building. Our mission is to provide the best in home health and hospice care in the Wabash Valley...Our Passion, Our Promise, Our Privilege. Our core values are:

Our main office is open 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday through Friday however we have an inpatient hospice unit that is open 24/7. Volunteers are able to set their own schedule in conjunction with the needs of the patient/family.
