Help families who have likely had their worst day after experiencing a home fire. As a Red Cross volunteer responding you are there to provide resources, comfort and hope to those family members affected. While not considered first responders in the technical sense, Disaster Action Team (DAT) volunteer members are typically the first people at a disaster scene who provide comfort, resources and hope to families who have been affected as they begin the recovery process. When disaster strikes, DAT members are the people sent to help those affected. What are the qualifications?

- Must be 18 or older.
- Must have a valid drivers license.
- Strong interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to promote and maintain productive working relationships with a variety of individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Complete training provided and shadow our experienced volunteers so you are comfortable with the role.
