Disaster Action Team (DAT) Service Associate: Montgomery County, TN. Purpose: This important volunteer role will respond to local disasters and provide knowledge and skills to assist clients following local disasters. This position is responsible for responding during local emergencies to ensure that clients have food, shelter and clothing following a local disaster. They are also responsible for providing information and referrals necessary for beginning the recovery process. The Red Cross provides single-family emergency response services for families that have been victims of disaster.

Assistance provided includes making sure that each family affected has shelter, food, clothing, personal items, and any necessary medications. Volunteers that serve in this capacity are the first responder for the Red Cross in case of a small local disaster, such as a house fire. On-call volunteers are needed for all ten counties we serve.

Time varies; requests at least 5 shifts per year. We will work with your schedule.
