We are looking for kind-hearted, compassionate people who want to be a friend to people with the disease ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease. It's a non-contagious, degenerative disease that eventually robs the person of their ability to talk, walk, move, swallow, and ultimately, breathe. Cognitively, the person with ALS is fine and nothing changes in that regard.

I would love to talk to you about ways you can make their lives richer and more fulfilling. We promise this: you will get as much out of being around someone with ALS as they get from the help you provide. They are some of the most inspiring people you will ever meet!

The schedule you would have is between you and the person with ALS. Some volunteers visit weekly, or even multiple times a week. Some visit monthly.

Matching Interests: Outdoors, Indoors, Handicap accessible, Health & Wellness, People with Disabilities
