Are you DRIVEN to help victims go from crisis to recovery after abuse? This opportunity might be perfect for you! We need volunteers to drive victims to safety. Have an Adventure - Travel across the Gulf Coast, the state of Texas, and the U.S. Our volunteers support victims in a direct, meaningful way!
WE NEED VOLUNTEERS WHO:
- Have a good driving record.
- Can pass a criminal background check.
- Have time to drive survivors of domestic violence from a safe pickup place in the Gulf Coast region to a family home or shelter.
HOW FAR DO VOLUNTEERS DRIVE?
- Greater Houston Road Warrior - Drive a new survivor to a domestic violence shelter, all within the Greater Houston area.
- Gulf Coast Region Road Warrior - Drive a new survivor to a domestic violence shelter 1 to 2 hours from the Houston area such as to/from Conroe, Beaumont, Galveston or Bay City.
- Multi-State Road Warrior - Drive a new survivor to a family home in another state. A company credit card is provided to pay for food and hotel stay. We also provide the vehicle and pay for the gas!

- You choose to accept or decline a drive - No pressure!
- We arrange survivor pick-ups in a safe, public place - usually in the greater Houston area.
- Many of our survivors travel with children - We provide & install car seats so you don't have to.
- There are no out-of-pocket expenses for our volunteers.
- Families to Freedom provides for the vehicle, fuel, food and other travel costs.
- We never pickup from a victim's home or anywhere that the abusive partner might be. Everyone's safety is our highest priority!
