Help create audio books for people who are blind or visually impaired. Listen to a raw recording and follow along in the print book to check accuracy. Identify mistakes and note them on a form for corrections. Use a computer, headphones, and audio editing software. Must have good hearing. Work is done on site in the recording studio at the Kentucky Talking Book Library, Frankfort KY between 8:00am and 4:30 pm. A regular schedule of at least one hour per week is preferred, but scheduling is flexible. One-on-one training will be provided. Experienced proofreaders may apply to operate equipment during recording sessions or audition to become a narrator.
Valuable experience/skills: avid reader and audio book user, knowledge of correct pronunciation, basic computer skills.
