!Share your time & skills when it matters most...at end of life.VITAS volunteers make a difference every day...helping those at the end of life and their families. The gift you give is your time as part of our hospice effort. VITAS is the largest and one of the nation's oldest hospices, serving patients throughout Brevard since 1980. We provide special form of care for people during the last months of life, focusing on adding quality to this special and fragile time.

Volunteers are valued members of our team/family, and help in a variety of ways:
- Listening, as a patient shares memories, feelings, fears.
- Helping a caregiver by filling in for them to give them a much needed break.
- Telephoning patients and families to offer reassurance and comfort.- Providing administrative support in the VITAS office.

VITAS volunteers are as diverse as the patients & families we serve, covering all ages, nationalities, faiths and ethnic backgrounds. We even have roles for those volunteers who might be home-bound. VITAS volunteers receive comprehensive training. We, then match your talents & interests with the broad spectrum of available volunteer roles.
