Enthusiastic and personable volunteers needed to help out for up to 4 hours at open air reading rooms, art studios, and more all around NYC. Duties can include reading to young children, helping children and families choose books, teaching how to use art equipment, and other small - but important - tasks.

Street Lab is a nonprofit that creates programs for public space across NYC, we are also known as the Uni Project. We do this work in order to improve the urban environment, strengthen neighborhoods, and bring New Yorkers together. Using custom-designed installations, we pop up in parks, plazas, and other public spaces to offer reading, drawing, and hands-on experiences for all ages. We partner with community organizations and city agencies, and we prioritize underserved locations.
