Every day, blood donors help patients of all ages: accident and burn victims, heart surgery and organ transplant patients, and those battling cancer. In fact, every two seconds, someone in the US needs blood. The Cascades Region holds blood drives all around our community at local businesses, community centers, places of worship, and educational institutions. It is crucial to have volunteer support to ensure that the collections from these locations get to the processing facility, and out to hospitals efficiently. Volunteers in the Transportation Specialist position will transport life-saving blood products from the Red Cross blood drives in the community, to the processing center for testing. Additional opportunities are available to deliver blood to hospitals on a scheduled basis, or on-call for sudden needs.

Volunteer Responsibilities include:
- Pick up and return boxes as needed from drives.
- Complete necessary paperwork.
- Driving in a safe and responsible manner.

Requirements:
- Two Shifts per month for six months.
- Good communication skills.
- Clean driving record, access to vehicle and insurance.
- Comfortable driving in various weather and traffic conditions.

Matching Interests: Handicap accessible, Requires Physical Ability (for example, lift 50 lbs.), Outdoors, Indoors, Community, Emergency & Safety, Health & Wellness
