The YMCA OF THE PRAIRIE in Holdrege was established in 2002 when it took over the operations of Health & Recreation Center (HARC). In 2003, volunteer campaigners began raising money to construct a new YMCA building. In September of 2006, the YMCA moved into its 40,000-square foot facility at 1415 Broadway Street in Holdrege. Currently the YMCA OF THE PRAIRIE serves more than 3,700 members from more than 30 communities in south-central Nebraska.
