The YMCA of the Palouse is a 501 (c)(3) organization and has a 14-member Board of Trustees and a variety of community youth programs. Chartered at Washington State University on November 20, 1894, the YMCA has started many campus initiatives using student volunteer leaders (ie. housing, new student orientation, community service) now provided by the institution. The Y was the oldest Registered Student Organization (RSO) at WSU until Spring 2015 and is celebrating it's 121st year!
Located at 105 NE Spring Street in Pullman, we offer volunteer opportunities and perform outreach in the community as part of our commitment to social responsibility.
The YMCA of the Palouse currently operates after-school programs in Pullman’s three elementary schools, provides a mentoring and service learning program in Lincoln Middle School, operates the Special Olympics of Whitman County and Young Athletes, offers an Alternative Service Learning Spring Break program, internships, practicums, and service learning opportunities.
The Y: We're for Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility.
