We make indigenously fermented wine utilizing Finger Lakes grapes and microflora unique to our winery in the hills that border Steuben, Allegany & Livingston counties. Besides crafting truly distinctive wines, we embody the culture of our idyllic area and showcase it through food & drink, song & hymn, and our passion for the real & wild. Winemaker J.M. Recktenwald views Wild Brute’s role in this age of winemaking as both a sense of stewardship to showcase the bounties that this land possesses and also to push the artistic boundaries of new age winemaking—all while keeping a minimally intrusive scope.
