Westport is a small fishing community located where the bay meets the ocean. In 1963, residents of Westport put a library in a former fire station adjacent to the Coast Guard Station. In January 1964, the Mayor and City Council voted to set aside part of City Hall for the library. The Westport Library has been housed in this facility ever since first as part of the Rural Library District of Grays Harbor prior to the formation of Timberland. In 1981 it joined the Timberland system.
The Westport Library has:
Books, videotapes, DVDs, CDs, audio cassettes, newspapers and magazines for readers and library users of all ages.
Programs for children and adults.
Computers with access to the Internet, Microsoft Office and online reference databases.
