Westchester Public Library has 2 branches.  The main branch, Thomas Library, is located at 200 W. Indiana Ave., Chesterton.  Thomas Library is named after one of Chesterton's founding families, the Thomas'.  Hageman Library, 100 Francis St., Porter, is Westchester Public Library's smaller branch.  It is named for one of Porter's founding families, the Hageman's.  Residents of Westchester Township are eligible for library and internet cards by bringing in id with current address.  Nonresidents are eligible if they are in good standing at their home libraries.  The library is well-equipped with books, ebook readers, audio-visual materials, magazines, etc. and provides many programming services to the community.  For more information call the library at 926-7696 or 926-9080.
