The WV Blackberry festival is an event held the first weekend of August in the Clarksburg City Park in Nutter Fort, WV. Our objectives include promoting free entertainment in a family friendly atmosphere.

The WV Blackberry Festival actually began in 1996 as part of the WV Homecoming 96 celebration. The mayor of Nutter Fort at that time was the late Jack C. Gorby, who asked Dolores Terango to help organize Nutter Fort's homecoming. She asked Sam Maxson to help. Together they organized a celebration that was held in front of the old Roosevelt-Wilson High School building. The weekend was such a success, many asked a similar event be held annually. The following year, the WV Blackberry Festival, Inc was chartered as a non-profit organization and held their first festival in Clarksburg City Park.
