The Weeki Wachee River is a 7.5-mile spring-fed river with a headwater spring that has been partially developed into a water park. Here you may find one of Florida's most unique inhabitants, the Weeki Wachee mermaid! The "mermaids" are really trained entertainers performing underwater ballets for the delight of tourists and visitors.
