The Washington Metro DachtoberFest Foundation, formed in 2013, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to raise awareness and educate dachshund and other long and low breed owners about various health issues common to the breeds, as well as to establish a fund to provide financial assistance to qualified rescue organizations and low-income families with extraordinary veterinary treatment related to the family dachshund.
