Volare Vineyard

Volare was established in 2006 when we plated 2 1/2 acres of Pommard clone Pinot Noir in our rocky jory soil. Our estate vineyard sits on a southern facing slope at a 600' elevation.

To give every opportunity for our grapes to achieve ideal ripening, we chose to use an open lyre trellis system. This full canopy system creates more labor and costs for the initial setup of the vineyard, but our belief is a fine wine starts with a happy grape plant! Having the openness to grow rather than be confined between two wires in a single row maximizes our Oregon sunlight. We also practice sustainable farming so we will have years of quality wine.
