Every year on the first Sunday of November, Berkeley Plantation hosts the Virginia Thanksgiving Festival. This annual tradition dates back to 1619 when Captain John Woodlief and his crew of thirty-five men landed on the shores of the James River.

Join us for a day immersed in the history of early Colonial America as we celebrate the First English Thanksgiving in the New World. Experience the re-enactment of this historic event moderated by Tim Timberlake.

Fun activities for the entire family include a re-enactment of the First English Thanksgiving, Chickahominy Tribal Dancers, parade with horse drawn carriages, fife and drum, festival participants and entertainers, musicians and magicians, colonial period games, dancing and choral groups, arts & crafts, jewelry and food vendors, corn maze,  storytelling, cornhusk doll making, candle dipping, and a silent auction.
