MISSION AND VISION:

The mission of the Ventura Hillsides Conservancy is to preserve the hillsides, waterways and wildlife that make Ventura and the surrounding region beautiful for the benefit of present and future generations.

The Ventura Hillsides Conservancy, a community-based nonprofit organization, believes that preserving open space and providing public access enhances the economy, quality-of-life, and public well-being of Ventura and surrounding communities. With local partners, the VHC works to protect the natural beauty of our area. The VHC builds trails, restores habitat, plants trees, and cleans up our rivers.

The Ventura Hillsides Conservancy envisions a Ventura with more trails, more hiking, more biking, and more opportunity to enjoy natural areas. The VHC envisions more preserved open space that balances the protection of wildlife and the environment. Working with willing landowners, land is either protected via acquisition or through a land conservation agreement.
