Van Cortlandt Park Conservancy's mission is to sustain and enhance the park as a vibrant destination for recreation, leisure and the enjoyment of natural landscapes.

Van Cortlandt Park Conservancy (VCPC), a 501(c)3 organization, was incorporated in 2009 as a public/private partnership with NYC Parks. Modeled after successful non-profit organizations that have shepherded the transformation of Central Park and Prospect Park, VCPC provides educational and cultural programming as well as staffing to enhance the Park's woodlands, fields, playgrounds, and ball fields. Van Cortlandt Park, serving an estimated 2.5 million people annually, is the third largest park in New York City a "living classroom" and a quality-of-life hub in the Bronx.
