About Us

Ursa Vineyards is a husband and wife operation. Greg Stokes and Deborah Elissagaray both started their winemaking careers in the Santa Cruz  Mountains. Both gained extensive knowledge working for various wineries there, while Greg headed up Grower Relations for David Bruce Winery. They moved to the Sierra Foothills to pursue hotter climate varietals.

We always have petite sirah and tannat in our line up, but we like to experiment, too. Depending on the vintage, we'll have unique and lesser known varietals in our offerings. Greg loves to blend. You can taste his efforts in our vastly popular Major Red and Syrah-Sirah.
