Trull Brook Golf Course

170 River Road
Tewksbury, MA 01876

Trull Brook Golf Course is bounded on the north by the scenic Merrimack River, with several of the holes, tees, greens and fairways overlooking the river. Splashes of color are provided by an abundance of flowers grown in our own greenhouses. We grow over 9,000 plants annually!

While out on the course, it is not unusual to see some of the resident wildlife who call the Merrimack River and Trull Brook their home. There are white-tailed deer, foxes, mink, turtles, beavers, and otters, to name a few! Birders may also enjoy catching a glimpse of or hearing a blue heron, red tailed hawk, kingfisher, pheasant, or even a bald eagle.

A Piece of History

When you play golf on Trull Brook’s beautiful grounds, you are playing on a piece of American history. The course sits on land that was once a pasture with a farmhouse owned by Capt. John Trull, Captain of the Tewksbury Minutemen during the Revolutionary War.

Captain Trull led the Minutemen through their drills in the pasture, and, like Paul Revere, helped to warn the militia that the “British were coming” on the night of April 18, 1775, and then marched on to join the fighting.

That same 125 acres of farmland have remained in the Trull family for over 200 years and 14 generations. It was carefully transformed into a golf course in 1963, and the family pride in this special place is evident when you play the course.

The Course

Trull Brook was designed by New England’s renowned designer Geoffrey Cornish in 1963. By 1980, Cornish had planned more courses in New England than any other course architect, living or dead. With almost 70 years experience since he began working under Canadian course architect Stanley Thompson, the firm he currently heads has been ranked by Golf World as one of the most sought-after in all of golf over the last decade.

The course boasts a classic layout, but when playing, you will find that the combination of the course’s length, its many water features, green size and carefully placed bunkers make for a challenging 18 holes of golf. Be prepared to test both your long and your short game at Trull Brook!

Before teeing off, players can warm up on one of two practice greens or the hitting net.
