About Us:

True North Kayak Adventures was established in 1992, making it one of the oldest and most respected sea kayak outfits on the Kenai Peninsula. It is the only company in Homer dedicated solely to kayaking.

Alison O'Hara is the owner of True North Kayak Adventures. She founded the company because of her love of kayaking and guides many of the trips. She has over 20 years paddling experience, an educational background in environmental studies and a U.S. Coast Guard captain's license. She has also completed the BCU (British Canoe Union) 4 star training.

During the summer Alison is joined by a professional and enthusiastic staff strongly connected to the Homer area: they all have a love of the outdoors and a desire to show off their neck of the woods. All guides are trained in sea kayak safety and rescue.
