The quality of a golf hole can be gauged by the amount of time it takes to map a strategy on the tee box.  At Timacuan Golf Club, the quality is off the charts.

The strategies differ from hole-to-hole, creating a sense of anticipation rarely felt in Florida. There's the par 4 second and its island fairway. Do you play it safe by driving it left, or do you try to set up a shorter approach shot by cutting off more of the lake, aiming right? On Number 6, it's all about mounding and angles. If the pin is on the right side of the green, you will want to play your tee shot to the left side of the fairway, away from the mounds on the right. Need a birdie on the 18th to win a match? You can hit a draw off the tee in an attempt to catch the "speed slot" near the left-side bunker. Otherwise you'll play safely to the right.
