History:-

The Kern Valley Museum houses artifacts from prehistoric times to the present.  We have a large geological and fossil exhibit, mining and ranching artifacts, an interactive history of the Edison hydroelectric plants, exhibits of the movie-making history of the area and construction of the Isabella Dam. Three Rivers Historical Society

Established in 1991 by a gathering of people within the Three Rivers area that wanted to preserve the history of our area from the native americans, through the cattlemen and logging industry to current times.

First came setting up a non-profit 501.c (3) organization the donations of membership and items starting coming in. In October 2000 with the opportunity of obtaining a permanent location in Three Rivers, the Three Rivers Historical Museum was opened.

Then in June of 2006 the Sequoia Foothills Chamber of Commerce established their office within the museum. This allowed us to promote the museum and at the same time open the visitor center/museum seven days a week.
