About Us:
Theatre To Go was formally founded in 1998, by Priscilla Hendrick (of Wakefield), Alex Lucchesi (of Everett), Jenn MacRobbie and Rob MacRobbie (both of Wakefield). The four had worked together extensively through Wakefield Repertory Theatre, so when Priscilla Hendrick got the call that Saint James United Methodist Church of Stoneham was looking for a resident theater group, she called Lucchesi, who in turn called the MacRobbies. For almost ten years, the group produced memorable shows there from Inherit the Wind to Secret Garden to Steel Magnolias and became part of the North Shore's flourishing community theater landscape. TTG would like to thank St. James UMC for all their past support and wish them every success in their future endeavors.
In 2007 it was time to relocate the group. Having taken Love Letters on the road to Greenwood Union Church of Wakefield earlier that year, it was natural to call them and see if it would be a good fit to establish a long-term relationship. After much discussion and a mutual investment in upgrading the electrical service in the old sanctuary to handle theater lighting (an area that had been adapted for a gym, already equipped with a stage), TTG had a new home! Beginning with their January 2008 production of Arthur Miller's Death of A Salesman, the group continues to grow and prosper today.
