What is “The” Ohio Eggfest?

A Central Ohio based fundraising event and celebration of family, food and everything Big Green Egg! It is a grilling, smoking, barbecue and cooking competition that features the Big Green Egg grill. It is essentially one big food festival!

It’s bragging rights for the cook team that takes home the Popular Vote Award; it’s legendary status for the cook team that takes home the Very Prestigious Award, Award; it’s a day full of family, friends, and food that would make celebrity chefs reconsider their collective lives’ work!

It’s also a great opportunity to purchase a once-cooked-on Big Green Egg for a discount otherwise unheard of, while contributing to the future of cancer research and the community so gracious as to host the 8th annual, The Ohio Eggfest. 100% of the profit of EVERY Egg sale and 100% of EVERY donation, beverage & ticket sale at The Ohio Eggfest benefits cancer research, treatment & prevention through The Buckeye Cruise and The James Cancer Research Hospital. The Ohio Eggfest

Columbus’ own Specialty Gas House is proud to host the 9th Annual Central Ohio-based event, The Ohio Eggfest, on July 29th, at The Fortress Obetz in Obetz, Ohio!

The purpose of this event? A family friendly gathering of “foodies,” coming together to celebrate the greatest charcoal-based invention in culinary history – The Big Green Egg! It is a celebration and cooking, grilling, barbecue competition where all the food is cooked on The Big Green Egg grill. It is also an opportunity for those contemplating a Big Green Egg to sample food cooked on them and learn more about how they work.

In other words, the EggFest is a good excuse to get a bunch of people together to eat and cook some great food. Big Green Egg aside, come for the smorgasbord of food as a vast array of cooks from various parts of the country compete for the coveted “People’s Choice Award,” and the professionally judged “Very Prestigious Award, Award!”
