The National Museum Of The American Coverlet

322 South Juliana Street
Bedford, PA 15522

814-623-1588

Mission :

To establish a caring, safe haven for antique American woven coverlets of all structures.

To maintain a full-time living institution devoted to coverlet exhibition, study, education and research.

To increase and develop the collection through donation and acquisition, in order to facilitate and inspire the understanding and appreciation of the history, variety and beauty of this utilitarian art form and its creators - for all to see.

To acknowledge, promote, and serve the importance of proper stewardship of this unique portion of our nation’s woven heritage, for the sake of its secure future.

About us:

The nation's only full-time, year-round, independent institution devoted to the display, preservation and study of antique American coverlets.

NMAC gives coverlets the recognition and respect they deserve, while bringing their history to life.

The Museum opened in Bedford, Pennsylvania’s historic (1859) former Common School building in May of 2006. Since then, it has welcomed visitors from around the world.

NMAC offers changing exhibitions, generally showing 50 or more coverlets at a time, along with special events, classes, and a Shop.
