The Jewish Museum of New Jersey, housed at historic Congregation Ahavas Sholom graced with the oldest Holy Ark in the state, is dedicated to the portrayal of the rich cultural heritage of New Jersey's Jewish people.
Moreover, the JMNJ serves a larger purpose, developing educational and cultural programs that promote greater understanding between individuals representing different backgrounds and religions. It reaches out to other groups, creating meaningful conversations and activities around topics such as cultural diversity, social justice, prejudice, nonviolence, and shared religious values.
Moreover, it forms partnerships and develops age-appropriate activities for public, private and parochial school students.
The location of the Museum in a city with many ethnic and religious groups provides a wonderful opportunity to expand opportunities for arts and cultural events for the surrounding community.
