The Bellevue Club

525 Bellevue Avenue
Oakland, CA 94610

510-451-1000

The Clubhouse is situated on the northern shore of Lake Merritt and is a class “A” steel and concrete building of perfect French design of the Louis XIV and XV periods. The impressive six story structure, whose exterior gives the effect of stone, cost over a half a million dollars in 1926. On entering the building, the high ceilinged, ivory paneled rooms lend an atmosphere of indefinable charm and luxury. The basic motif for the interior decoration was inspired by Marie Antoinette’s Petit Trianon and has achieved the atmosphere, appearance and intimacy of a large, well-ordered home rather than the formality of a typical club.
