The Alexander Children's Theatre School

ACTS The Alexander Children's Theatre School began as a branch of the International Dance Project (IDP) in the fall of 1999. What started as a small children's theatre troupe has blossomed into a quality community youth theatre. Now, ACTS presents several musicals each year, professionally directed and designed, in addition to offering master classes and workshops with professional artists, weekly dance classes, special summer shows, cabarets, and other educational opportunities.

Our objective is to produce full-scale, quality theatrical productions in the Greater Boston area, performed by students, and directed and designed by professionals. We are unique because though nearly all of our shows are non-selective (meaning that we do not make casting cuts), we have attracted some of the finest youth talent in the area. By combining the work of professional adults with that of students and volunteers, we can create an excellent learning experience for all. We believe that there is something for everyone; every child can succeed, given the proper guidance, encouragement, and direction.
