The mission of the Tangipahoa Parish Library is to provide all members of the community with resources and programs to fulfill their informational, educational, recreational, and cultural needs.
The Tangipahoa Parish Library was founded in 1944 and has grown to six branches located in Amite, Hammond, Ponchatoula, Kentwood, Independence, and Loranger. The Administration office and Genealogy Department are located at the Amite Branch.
