Stower Seven Lakes State Trail

near U.S. Highway 8 and Highway 35 in northwest Wisconsin
Balsam Lake, WI 54810

715-485-9294

Built on a former railroad corridor, this 14-mile trail begins in Amery at Harriman Avenue, travels through the communities of Deronda, Wanderoos and Nye, ending about one mile from Dresser at 90th Avenue. The trail passes through maple and oak forests, wetlands, prairies and farmlands and past many picturesque lakes. The trail crosses between the North Twin and South Twin lakes in Amery, skirts the south end of Bear Trap Lake, the north end of Kinney lake and runs along Dwight, Horse and Lotus lakes near the western end.

The trail is named to recognize the exceptional natural resources the trail traverses and the longtime public service and leadership demonstrated by Harvey and Marilyn Stower of Amery. Harvey Stower served in the Wisconsin Legislature and as Mayor of Amery for many years. Camping and hiking opportunities are available nearby at Interstate State Park.
