Stafford Pond is a large, 480-acre reservoir, one of the larger reservoirs in the state of Rhode Island. There are a few large coves at the north end but for the most part the pond is broad and open. At almost 2 miles long and over half a mile wide, it hardly fits the usual image of a "pond." The west shore is largely wooded, but the east side is more built up. There is a cement plank boat ramp and a gravel parking lot at the put-in. For boats launched from the state boat ramp the motor must be under 10hp (or electric). This regulation apparently does not apply to boats operated from privately owned access points on the lake.
This pond is stocked with trout several times throughout the year.
This site provides access to the following water bodies in the Taunton River watershed: Stafford Pond.
